About Stefanie

I believe we all need to be seen, celebrated, and supported to explore a full spectrum of life choices and personal power. This belief is what lead me to become a movement-based psychotherapist. I am honored to do this work because as I get to know my clients deeply and I am continuously inspired by their resiliency and possibilities, even in the face of adversity and what can seem like the impossible.

Born and raised in New York City, I learned a lot about how to be a “do-er”, an “achiever”, and how to do it all, and do it quickly. In never slowing down, I neglected my own needs, and therefore never felt satisfied with myself, my work, or my relationships. Even when I loved what I was doing, this way of being caused pain, shame, self-aggression, anxiety, and unnecessary stress and suffering.

Through movement and performance, I learned how to create a positive relationship with myself. I earned my BA in Dance and Theatre and formally danced in musical theatre productions off-Broadway and plenty of community theatre productions. Through informal and social movement and improvisation, both nationally and internationally, I found community and internal sense of belonging. My passion for movement remains as such because it gives me a sense of freedom, acceptance, and joy, and the power to tell my story. I also discovered that performing alone wasn’t enough for me, I needed to help others explore the same joy for themselves so I decided to become a Dance/Movement therapist.

I graduated from Naropa University in Boulder, CO with an MA in Somatic Counseling Psychology with a dual concentration in Body Psychotherapy and Dance/Movement Therapy. It was here that I learned that “slowing down” doesn’t mean “doing less”; it means doing it with more intention, authenticity, clarity, and self-trust. My development as a therapist has gone hand in hand with my evolution as an artist and creator—each practice informing and expanding the other.

A true multi-hyphenate, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York. In addition to my clinical work—which includes EMDR therapy and consultation, clinical supervision, somatic-based psychotherapy and Dance/Movement Therapy—I also lead organizational consulting, coaching, and facilitation for mission-driven teams navigating burnout, communication ruptures, and leadership growth from a trauma resilience lens. I continue to direct, choreograph, and create across disciplines, weaving together my passion for embodied storytelling and transformative healing. Whether I'm in a therapy room, a rehearsal studio, or leading a retreat, my work is rooted in helping people come home to themselves, their truth, and their aliveness.

Now based once again in New York City, I bring with me the groundedness and spaciousness cultivated over a decade in the Colorado Rocky Mountains—carrying both grit and grace into every space I serve.

You are unique, and if that is not fulfilled, then something has been lost.
