Embodied Trauma Responsive Consulting & Coaching

How we show up in our bodies, shapes how we show up to our work.

It’s time to root confidence and empowerment in the body again, so movement, leadership, and collaboration flow with clarity, care, and connection.

You can’t power through burnout, tension, or broken trust forever.

Those patterns leave you drained, off-center, and dependent on external validation to feel balanced instead of being able to trust your own signals.

Maybe you’re here…

As an individual: shrinking back, feeling under pressure,  rushing to prove yourself, or working harder without making real progress, stuck in self-doubt and wishing you could show up with more confidence and ease.

As a team or organization: Where stress, tension, and unspoken histories keep showing up in the room, in the way people communicate, withdraw, or clash. It leaves the work environment feeling heavy instead of supportive, and fuels presenteeism (when folks are physically present but can’t bring their full presence, creativity, or energy to the work). Leaders often feel stuck trying to fix it on the surface, while the deeper issues keep cycling back.

As a creative space: Managing off-stage conflict, blurred boundaries, and unspoken tensions spilling into the room, making collaboration harder than it should be. Instead of supporting performers to bring authenticity and presence, the atmosphere chips away at trust and takes the magic out of creation.

The truth is, none of this means you or your team are failing. It’s what happens when stress, pressure, and old dynamics take over the room. But it doesn’t have to stay that way.

With my embodiment work you’ll be

  1. Rooted in Your Body
  2. Guided by Awareness
  3. Recalibrated Through Self-Compassion
  4. Freed by Releasing Attachment
  5. Empowered in Presence
  6. Aligned Beyond Ego

  • Individuals move from stalled ideas and shrinking back in fear to engaging their body’s cues to break through resistance and lead the life they desire with confidence and presence.

  • Organizations shift from hidden conflict and negative bonding to clarity, accountability, and cultures that relieve burnout and compassion fatigue.

  • Production teams evolve from ego clashes and blurred roles to a rehearsal room where boundaries are clear, collaboration flows, and creators can bring their full authenticity to the work

When the parts of you that don’t show up in words are included the felt truth beneath the story expression becomes real and change becomes possible.

That’s exactly what I can support you with, as a trauma-responsive consultant, coach, and embodiment facilitator.

My work centers authenticity, moves the learning from concept into the body, and engages the nervous system so change becomes something you can actually practice individually and collectively.

If you (or your team) are feeling the strain of disconnection, flat energy, tension that lingers in the room, creative blocks, or the fatigue of holding others’ pain and hard stories, we’ll shape an approach that fits your needs through tailored coaching, organizational consulting, or creative workshops.

Hi, I’m Stefanie - Somatic Psychotherapist and Trauma-Responsive Embodiment Facilitator

For over 20 years, I’ve worked as a dancer, choreographer, facilitator, and leader guiding movement in all its forms: of bodies, ideas, and communities. My work bridges dance/theatre, psychotherapy, organizational wellness, and retreats, creating spaces where growth, collaboration, and expression can unfold with honesty and care. That range keeps me creative and deeply attuned to the many ways people move through their stories.

My roots are in dance and theatre, where I’ve choreographed and directed dozens of productions and facilitated movement-based programs in schools and communities. Over time, my work expanded into organizations and nonprofits, where I’ve led trauma resilience programs, retreats, and cultural change efforts across sectors like healthcare, education, and the arts. In every setting, my focus is the same: helping people reconnect to their bodies, their relationships, and their capacity for authentic presence.

My background as a choreographer, intimacy-trained movement professional, and trauma-responsive practitioner means I understand both the power and the vulnerability of being seen.

My approach blends somatic and movement-based practices such as Feldenkrais, Laban Movement Analysis, and Bartenieff Fundamentals to help people notice patterns, expand choice, and create lasting shifts. With training in Transformative Mediation and conflict resolution, whether in a therapy room, rehearsal studio, or boardroom, I hold spaces where people feel safe enough to show up fully, challenged enough to grow, and supported enough to leave shifted.

The stage, the room, the meeting, they all begin with the same thing: presence. Let’s find yours, together.

Payments and plans

  • Embodied Empowerment Coaching (Individual)

Non-clinical, goal-focused support to feel more present, confident, and expressive whether your in the studio, on stage, at work, or moving through everyday life. We’ll use body and mindfulness based practices to shift patterns like shrinking, doubting,  rushing, or overperforming and cultivate grounded presence, visibility, and voice.

Common coaching goals I work with:

    • confidence in public presence and expression
    • preparing for an audition or supplemental  support to performance or training
    • navigating creative blocks
    • leadership presence and interpersonal skills development
    • wanting to improve body awareness and ease of movement
    • burnout and work-life balance

Investment:  $225 per 55–60 minute session.

  • Trauma-Responsive Organizational Wellness & Embodied Coaching

For organizations and teams ready for a shift, I offer coaching and consulting that goes deeper than surface-level wellness talks. Rooted in the body means we pay attention to how stress and old patterns of relating show up in real time  in tension, tone, communication, and energy  and practice new ways of responding. I work from the understanding that unspoken histories, pressures, and dynamics often shape how people show up at work. Together, we’ll create embodied strategies that move teams out of “survival mode” and into resilience, clarity, and authentic connection.

I specialize in supporting organizations where the work runs deep, where the emotional load is heavy, burnout is common, and people often carry more than their roles were ever meant to hold, blurring the lines between personal and professional.

    Investment:

    • Hourly Consulting Rate/Individual Coaching: $175–225 per hour depending on the scope and format.
    • Workshops: 60–90 minute workshops often range from $350–650.
    • Tailored Retreats: Full-day or multi-day retreats — designed for depth, reset, and real change — generally range from $7,000–15,000.
  • Movement & Theatre Engagements

Custom engagements for productions and creative educational spaces that center embodiment, consent, communication, and authentic expression. Because intensity is part of the art  it’s how we handle it in the room that makes all the difference.

These engagements are designed to support both performers and production teams. We’ll explore how stress, power dynamics, social systems, and blurred boundaries can show up in creative spaces  in tone, body language, and relationships  and practice tools for clarity, trust, and collaboration. Performers leave with a stronger sense of presence and authenticity, while directors, stage managers, and production staff gain shared language and strategies for navigating conflict before it derails the work.

    Content may include:

    • Consent and boundaries in rehearsal
    • Embodied presence and character work
    • Conflict resolution skills and communication practices
    • Restorative practices for addressing relational and systemic harm  adapted for creative spaces, so companies have tools to repair trust when it’s been broken and create space for accountability
    • Collaboration across creative hierarchies
    • Tools for managing ego, energy, and emotional intensity in the room
    • Creative consulting (feedback in the rehearsal room to align intention, embodiment, and human experience)

    Investment:

    • Short-form engagements: 60–90 minutes, often $300–500
    • Extended or multi-day engagements/retreats: Custom designed, typically ranging from $5,000–10,000

Testimonials

“It was a useful set of exercises that can both help individuals, as well as provide a safe space to improve your understanding of coworkers.”

“Stefanie hosted a ‘Getting Grounded’ Workshop for the Women in Engineering at my company. This was held via Zoom Meeting due to the pandemic. Despite the challenges that virtual meetings present, Stefanie was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and creative with her delivery. The content was relatable and allowed for our team to engage from start to finish. We cannot wait to schedule the next workshop!”

Cristin Johnson, PE

“Stefanie works with our agency in a few spaces... she does a group with our care coordinators to talk about client work and support for the care team in what they need to do their best work. She also facilitates a group of our team supervisors. We love the mindfulness she brings to the groups and does a great job holding space for what is needed in each moment. We all love the work Stefanie does and looking forward to continuing with her in 2022!“

Shelly Gainsley, Operations Director, The Health Partnership

“The organization, flow, and engagement activities were perfect! I had planned on doing work on the side while listening in but after the first few minutes I was completely engaged.”

Frequently asked questions

  • Do you work virtually or in person?

Most coaching, consulting, and workshops can be done virtually  and I do this often. That said, I believe there’s something powerful about being in the room together, especially with groups. When possible, I prefer to facilitate live.

  • Are you willing to travel for workshops or consulting?

Yes. Travel can be arranged depending on availability, project scope, and cost. For organizational consulting, retreats and theatre workshops, I’ll go where the work needs me when possible. (For individual coaching, I keep sessions virtual or in my NYC office.)

  • Where are you based?

I’m based in New York City and have a private office for coaching sessions. For organizations or creative spaces located elsewhere, we’ll talk through whether remote or in-person makes the most sense.

  • How do we figure out pricing?

Pricing depends on the scope of the work whether it’s an individual coaching series, a one-off workshop, or an ongoing consulting engagement. During your free consultation or discovery call, we’ll clarify your goals and I’ll provide a tailored proposal with investment options.

  • What kinds of organizations or teams do you work with?

I’ve worked with nonprofits, healthcare and rural health networks, engineering and real estate firms, arts organizations, and educational spaces. The common thread? Teams who know the way they’re working isn’t sustainable and are ready to try something more embodied, authentic, and effective.

  • What makes this different from other coaching or consulting models?

There are plenty of one-size-fits-all models out there. This isn’t one of them. My work is boutique, relational, and embodied which means we don’t just talk about change, we practice it together in real time. That’s what makes the shifts actually stick.

  • Good Faith Estimate

Beginning January 1, 2022, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

You don’t need another trendy model or a big-box training that talks at you but doesn’t change anything. There are plenty of those out there.

What you need is support that’s boutique, tailored, and rooted in real care for the work you’re doing and wanting to do. That’s where I come in.
