Therapy in Astoria | Stefanie Raccuglia

Connection and diversity can coexist with unspoken stress, emotional fatigue, or relational strain. Many individuals carry anxiety or burnout quietly while continuing to meet external demands. Therapy offers a restorative environment where your nervous system can settle and your emotional experience can be explored safely. I work with clients to increase body awareness, support emotional regulation, and foster a more grounded and compassionate relationship with themselves.

  • Somatic & Movement Therapy

Somatic psychotherapy recognizes that healing happens not only through insight, but through the body’s capacity to feel safe and organized. By working with sensation, breath, and gentle movement, you begin to understand how experience has shaped your responses. As the nervous system settles, emotional meaning and embodied awareness come into alignment, supporting steadiness, clarity, and internal connection.

  • Embodied Coaching & Consulting

You don’t have to navigate professional or personal challenges alone. Embodied coaching helps you recognize internal signals, release patterns that keep you stuck, and move forward with greater grounding. As awareness grows, you begin trusting your own pace and responses rather than pushing against yourself.

“Stefanie Raccuglia is a warm vibrant soul. She worked with my son for many years using movement to facilitate his own self-expression. In the process, she helped him experience himself as beautiful & talented, and supported me as the parent of a talented neuro-atypical child. She’s made a huge difference in our family’s life.“

LFR, Minister, Group Leader

“Stefanie hosted a ‘Getting Grounded’ Workshop for the Women in Engineering at my company. This was held via Zoom Meeting due to the pandemic. Despite the challenges that virtual meetings present, Stefanie was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and creative with her delivery. The content was relatable and allowed for our team to engage from start to finish. We cannot wait to schedule the next workshop!”

“Stefanie works with our agency in a few spaces... she does a group with our care coordinators to talk about client work and support for the care team in what they need to do their best work. She also facilitates a group of our team supervisors. We love the mindfulness she brings to the groups and does a great job holding space for what is needed in each moment. We all love the work Stefanie does and looking forward to continuing with her in 2022!“

Shelly Gainsley, Operations Director, The Health Partnership

She is a TAG, 2E empathic who feels so deeply when in most situations especially given crisis situations. Stefanie's weekly Zoom group meeting to support my student and others alike, was an incredibly helpful experience! She took time for each student, had mindful convos and fun exercises!”

“I work for a fast-paced, innovative, and diverse tech company in Los Angeles. Stefanie has facilitated a few classes for our employees and clients. It is enough that Stefanie so intimately understands her areas of expertise and is able to deliver information that not only changes the here and now but truly the future of her listeners - what is more exceptional is how Stefanie can talk to a room full of people and somehow manage to deliver her message in a way that every single person in the room, despite differences, receives it as if they are alone with her in deep conversation. Stefanie's points of view and conviction result in her driving impact every single time she joins us on many different topics.”

Hello I’m Stefanie Raccuglia, a somatic therapist helping clients heal attachment patterns and emotional overwhelm

I work with clients who want to understand how early relational experiences continue to shape their emotional world. Through somatic psychotherapy and attachment based work, we gently explore patterns of connection, protection, and self trust. This process supports deeper regulation, emotional insight, and more secure ways of relating.

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I know if we’re a good fit?

Therapy works best when you feel safe, seen, and understood. If you're curious about working together, I offer a free 20-minute consultation where we can discuss your needs, my approach, and whether it feels like the right fit for you.

  • How often do we meet?

Most clients meet weekly or biweekly, depending on their needs and goals. We can discuss what frequency feels best for your process.

  • How long should I expect to be in therapy?

There is no standard timeline for therapy; it depends entirely on you and what you hope to gain.

At the beginning, we’ll establish goals and check in on progress over time. Healing is not just about “checking off” goals but about feeling confident in your ability to navigate challenges and growth without therapy.

Some people find 3 months helpful for gaining awareness and new tools. Others find that around 6 months, they begin making meaningful changes. Some continue therapy as a space for ongoing self-growth, while others work toward a specific outcome and end when they feel complete. I will never expect you to be in therapy longer than you need.

  • What’s your cancellation policy?

I require 48 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be subject to a fee. This is explained more fully in my intake paperwork.

  • Can I use my insurance for virtual therapy?

I currently do not accept insurance payments. I can support you in seeking out of network reimbursement if your insurance plans has those benefits.
