Therapy in Fort Greene | Stefanie Raccuglia

Strong community and creative expression do not always prevent anxiety, relational stress, or emotional overwhelm. Many clients arrive feeling they’ve been holding too much on their own for too long. Therapy creates a compassionate, grounded space to slow down and bring awareness to what has been living beneath the surface. Through somatic psychotherapy, I support clients in gently exploring emotional patterns, restoring nervous system balance, and developing a more regulated and supported inner experience.

  • Somatic & Movement Therapy

Healing doesn’t always begin with talking. Somatic psychotherapy works by noticing how experience shows up in the body—through breath, muscle tone, and movement. As you gently engage these signals, insight begins to surface in a way that feels steady and contained. The nervous system learns to settle, allowing emotional awareness and cognitive meaning to align, supporting lasting regulation and self-connection.

  • Embodied Coaching & Consulting

Embodied consulting invites you to pause long enough to sense what is happening beneath your usual ways of coping. As you attune to bodily cues, insight develops around how your nervous system responds to work demands, boundaries, and relationships. This process supports more intentional action and a deeper sense of internal alignment.

  • C PTSD Therapy

“Stefanie hosted a ‘Getting Grounded’ Workshop for the Women in Engineering at my company. This was held via Zoom Meeting due to the pandemic. “Stefanie works with our agency in a few spaces... she does a group with our care coordinators to talk about client work and support for the care team in what they need to do their best work. She also facilitates a group of our team supervisors. We love the mindfulness she brings to the groups and does a great job holding space for what is needed in each moment. “I work for a fast-paced, innovative, and diverse tech company in Los Angeles. Stefanie has facilitated a few classes for our employees and clients. It is enough that Stefanie so intimately understands her areas of expertise and is able to deliver information that not only changes the here and now but truly the future of her listeners - what is more exceptional is how Stefanie can talk to a room full of people and somehow manage to deliver her message in a way that every single person in the room, despite differences, receives it as if they are alone with her in deep conversation. Stefanie's points of view and conviction result in her driving impact every single time she joins us on many different topics.”

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I know if we’re a good fit?

Therapy works best when you feel safe, seen, and understood. If you're curious about working together, I offer a free 20-minute consultation where we can discuss your needs, my approach, and whether it feels like the right fit for you.

  • How often do we meet?

Most clients meet weekly or biweekly, depending on their needs and goals. We can discuss what frequency feels best for your process.

  • How long should I expect to be in therapy?

There is no standard timeline for therapy; it depends entirely on you and what you hope to gain.

At the beginning, we’ll establish goals and check in on progress over time. Healing is not just about “checking off” goals but about feeling confident in your ability to navigate challenges and growth without therapy.

Some people find 3 months helpful for gaining awareness and new tools. Others find that around 6 months, they begin making meaningful changes. Some continue therapy as a space for ongoing self-growth, while others work toward a specific outcome and end when they feel complete. I will never expect you to be in therapy longer than you need.

  • What’s your cancellation policy?

I require 48 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be subject to a fee. This is explained more fully in my intake paperwork.

  • Can I use my insurance for virtual therapy?

I currently do not accept insurance payments. I can support you in seeking out of network reimbursement if your insurance plans has those benefits.
