Therapy in Manhattan | Stefanie Raccuglia

Life in Manhattan moves fast, full schedules, long days, and constant stimulation that can leave you feeling emotionally stretched or disconnected from yourself. Even when everything looks “fine” from the outside, it can be hard to slow down enough to notice what your body has been holding. Therapy here offers a grounding, spacious place to breathe, regulate, and reconnect with what you truly need. I support women in this area in finding steadiness, clarity, and deeper emotional resilience.

  • Somatic & Movement Therapy

Sometimes your body speaks before you have words. Through somatic and movement therapy, you begin noticing those quiet signals and understanding how your body holds experience. As you explore breath, sensation, and gentle movement, insight naturally emerges helping you make meaning of patterns that may have felt confusing or hard to access through talk alone. Your nervous system finds space to settle and reorganize, allowing emotional understanding and embodied awareness to come together. This work supports healing that integrates body, emotion, and cognition, helping you feel more present, regulated, and connected from the inside out.

  • EMDR Therapist

EMDR therapy helps your system process the memories and sensations that once felt too overwhelming to hold. Instead of reliving the past, you move through it with grounding, support, and clarity. Over time, emotional triggers soften and you reconnect with a steadier inner world.

  • C PTSD Therapy

C-PTSD therapy supports women who have lived through long-term relational trauma, emotional neglect, abuse, or environments where safety and attunement were inconsistent. This work helps unwind survival patterns shaped over time such as hypervigilance, shutdown, people-pleasing, or chronic self-blame by working with the nervous system, body, and attachment system. Using somatic therapy, movement-based work, and EMDR, we focus on restoring internal safety and capacity rather than simply managing symptoms.

  • Attachment Therapy

Attachment therapy focuses on how early relational experiences shape patterns of closeness, distance, trust, and autonomy today. This work supports healing attachment wounds as they show up not only in romantic relationships, but also in friendships, group dynamics, and your relationship with work or responsibility. Through an attuned, relational, and embodied process, attachment therapy helps you move toward earned security—so connection can feel safer, more mutual, and more sustaining.

“Stefanie Raccuglia is a warm vibrant soul. She worked with my son for many years using movement to facilitate his own self-expression. In the process, she helped him experience himself as beautiful & talented, and supported me as the parent of a talented neuro-atypical child. She’s made a huge difference in our family’s life.“

“Stefanie hosted a ‘Getting Grounded’ Workshop for the Women in Engineering at my company. This was held via Zoom Meeting due to the pandemic. “I work for a fast-paced, innovative, and diverse tech company in Los Angeles. Stefanie has facilitated a few classes for our employees and clients. It is enough that Stefanie so intimately understands her areas of expertise and is able to deliver information that not only changes the here and now but truly the future of her listeners - what is more exceptional is how Stefanie can talk to a room full of people and somehow manage to deliver her message in a way that every single person in the room, despite differences, receives it as if they are alone with her in deep conversation. Stefanie's points of view and conviction result in her driving impact every single time she joins us on many different topics.”

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I know if we’re a good fit?

Therapy works best when you feel safe, seen, and understood. If you're curious about working together, I offer a free 20-minute consultation where we can discuss your needs, my approach, and whether it feels like the right fit for you.

  • How often do we meet?

Most clients meet weekly or biweekly, depending on their needs and goals. We can discuss what frequency feels best for your process.

  • How long should I expect to be in therapy?

There is no standard timeline for therapy; it depends entirely on you and what you hope to gain.

At the beginning, we’ll establish goals and check in on progress over time. Healing is not just about “checking off” goals but about feeling confident in your ability to navigate challenges and growth without therapy.

Some people find 3 months helpful for gaining awareness and new tools. Others find that around 6 months, they begin making meaningful changes. Some continue therapy as a space for ongoing self-growth, while others work toward a specific outcome and end when they feel complete. I will never expect you to be in therapy longer than you need.

  • What’s your cancellation policy?

I require 48 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be subject to a fee. This is explained more fully in my intake paperwork.

  • Can I use my insurance for virtual therapy?

I currently do not accept insurance payments. I can support you in seeking out of network reimbursement if your insurance plans has those benefits.
