Therapy in Upper West Side | Stefanie Raccuglia

Balancing ambition, responsibility, and personal expectations can gradually disconnect you from your own emotional needs. When stress becomes chronic, your body may remain in a state of tension or vigilance without clear relief. Therapy provides a steady, supportive environment where these patterns can be met with care rather than pressure. I help clients tune into their bodies, understand emotional responses, and build regulation strategies that support steadiness and resilience in daily life.

  • Somatic & Movement Therapy

Some patterns are easier to feel than explain. Through somatic psychotherapy, you explore how emotions and experiences are stored in the body. Breath, sensation, and movement become pathways for understanding, allowing insight to arise without forcing language. As your system slows and stabilizes, emotional clarity and embodied awareness begin to work together, supporting deeper regulation and integration.

  • Embodied Coaching & Consulting

This approach is especially supportive for therapists, caregivers, creatives, and leaders seeking guidance without sacrificing authenticity. By integrating body-based awareness, we strengthen intuition, emotional regulation, and relational presence. The work supports sustainable leadership and engagement that does not rely on constant self-sacrifice.

  • EMDR Therapist

Rather than forcing insight, EMDR therapy allows understanding to emerge naturally as the system settles. We work with both memory and sensation, supporting integration without retraumatization. Over time, long-held emotional weight begins to loosen, creating space for greater ease and self-trust.

“Stefanie Raccuglia is a warm vibrant soul. She worked with my son for many years using movement to facilitate his own self-expression. In the process, she helped him experience himself as beautiful & talented, and supported me as the parent of a talented neuro-atypical child. She’s made a huge difference in our family’s life.“

LFR, Minister, Group Leader

“Stefanie hosted a ‘Getting Grounded’ Workshop for the Women in Engineering at my company. This was held via Zoom Meeting due to the pandemic. The content was relatable and allowed for our team to engage from start to finish. We cannot wait to schedule the next workshop!”

“Stefanie works with our agency in a few spaces... she does a group with our care coordinators to talk about client work and support for the care team in what they need to do their best work. She also facilitates a group of our team supervisors. We love the mindfulness she brings to the groups and does a great job holding space for what is needed in each moment. We all love the work Stefanie does and looking forward to continuing with her in 2022!“

Shelly Gainsley, Operations Director, The Health Partnership

She is a TAG, 2E empathic who feels so deeply when in most situations especially given crisis situations. Stefanie's weekly Zoom group meeting to support my student and others alike, was an incredibly helpful experience! She took time for each student, had mindful convos and fun exercises!”

“I work for a fast-paced, innovative, and diverse tech company in Los Angeles. Stefanie has facilitated a few classes for our employees and clients. It is enough that Stefanie so intimately understands her areas of expertise and is able to deliver information that not only changes the here and now but truly the future of her listeners - what is more exceptional is how Stefanie can talk to a room full of people and somehow manage to deliver her message in a way that every single person in the room, despite differences, receives it as if they are alone with her in deep conversation. Stefanie's points of view and conviction result in her driving impact every single time she joins us on many different topics.”

Hello I’m Stefanie Raccuglia, a somatic therapist specializing in women’s emotional wellness and embodiment

I work with women who want to reconnect with their bodies, soften internal pressure, and build healthier relational patterns. Through somatic psychotherapy, movement practices, and nervous system work, we explore emotional experiences as they live in the body. This approach supports self trust, emotional spaciousness, and a more grounded sense of ease.

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I know if we’re a good fit?

Therapy works best when you feel safe, seen, and understood. If you're curious about working together, I offer a free 20-minute consultation where we can discuss your needs, my approach, and whether it feels like the right fit for you.

  • How often do we meet?

Most clients meet weekly or biweekly, depending on their needs and goals. We can discuss what frequency feels best for your process.

  • How long should I expect to be in therapy?

There is no standard timeline for therapy; it depends entirely on you and what you hope to gain.

At the beginning, we’ll establish goals and check in on progress over time. Healing is not just about “checking off” goals but about feeling confident in your ability to navigate challenges and growth without therapy.

Some people find 3 months helpful for gaining awareness and new tools. Others find that around 6 months, they begin making meaningful changes. Some continue therapy as a space for ongoing self-growth, while others work toward a specific outcome and end when they feel complete. I will never expect you to be in therapy longer than you need.

  • What’s your cancellation policy?

I require 48 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be subject to a fee. This is explained more fully in my intake paperwork.

  • Can I use my insurance for virtual therapy?

I currently do not accept insurance payments. I can support you in seeking out of network reimbursement if your insurance plans has those benefits.
